Day 1 Day 1

Arrival in Nassau by 1.30pm at the latest. (For later arrivals an overnight in Nassau would be required) 3.45pm connecting flight on Sky Bahamas to The Bight, Cat Island. 4.30pm arrival and short taxi ride to the Fernandez Bay Village Hotel ($5.00 p. person, payable locally). Overnights in a beachfront cottage. After the sunset enjoy a delicious meal cooked with love by the local chef and play some old time favorite board games or nurture the art of conversation.

Day 2 Day 2

Leisure time. We suggest you take a kayak and venture out to the nearby mangroves, go snorkeling, or catch up on your reading while working on that tan on the beach. In the afternoon rent a bicylce and enjoy the fresh breeze while riding through the empty roads and paths.

Day 3 Day 3

Rent a car and tour the Cat Island. A must see is Father Jerome's one man Hermitage on Mt. Alvernia. A short inspirational hike will take you to the top of the hill (the highest elevation in the entire Bahamas). The 360 degree panoramic view from here is breathtaking as you can see the Atlantic Ocean on the Eastern side of Cat island and the Caribbean Sea on the Western side. Take a few moments to reflect on the life, architect , builder and occupant of this scaled down replica of a hermitage in Europe.

Day 4 Day 4

Check out and short transfer to the airport at a time to be advised during your stay at Fernandez Bay. Short 25 minute flight on a twin engine, 5 passenger plane to Stella Maris, Long Island (operated by Island Wings) Transfer to Cape Santa Maria (not included, approx. $32.00) and check in to a 1-bedroom beachside bungalow.

Day 5 Day 5

The 2-mile long beach invites you to stroll along, swim in the calm bay, soak up the sun and listen to the waves rolling in on the beach. Divers and snorkelers will see a variety of sea life, reefs and corals, evenings are spent socializing with other guests under starry skies, in the TV room, library or fitness center. Bone fish guides are available to take you to the bone fish flats.

Day 6 Day 6

Take a Tour of Long Island: Bookable through the hotel. This 4-5 hour tour takes you to historic monuments, island highlights and beautiful natural attractions. Some of the highlights of the tour are listed below. Columbus Monument Constructed by the Long Islanders Association as a tribute to the arrival of Christopher Columbus on October 17th, 1492. Adderly Plantation One of the original Loyalist settlements on Long Island. The Adderleys fled the American Revolution and settled on Long Island, bringing with them large number of slaves. Learn about their lives and the lives of the people left behind as you explore the ruins of the original plantation. Simms Jail This historical building is still used today and dates back to the early 1900s. Take your photo next to the original sign over the Simms Jail door. Although Long Island is virtually crime free, this building still houses offenders as they await their day in court. Cheryl’s Creations Watch as Cheryl works her magic creating beautiful hand bags, baskets, purses from Palm Frond leaves. Cheryl has been recognized around the world for her work including the Smithsonian Institute in the U.S.A. Max’s Conch Bar This open air Conch Bar is simply fabulous, a must visit for both the quality of the food and the great atmosphere. Gary and Liz will keep you entertained and make sure you leave feeling full and content with at least a couple of great Long Island stories. Lunch is not included in tour price. Long Island Museum The Bahamas Historical Society established the Long Island Museum housing artifacts dating back to the early settlers of the Island. The museum curator will lead you on a guided tour explaining the history, culture, and customs of Long Island. Dean’s Blue Hole Dean’s Blue Hole is the world deepest blue hole. Plunging 663 feet (200 meters) to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, the blue hole is oval at its surface, with a diameter ranging from 80 to 120 feet (25 to 37 meters). A popular destination for divers and visitors from all over the world, the hole was the location of the recent free diving world record of 274 ft. (83 meters). Clarencetown The island’s capital has one of the prettiest and safest harbors in the Family Islands. It is well known for its beautiful twin churches situated on two of the highest hilltops on Long Island.

Check out and transfer to the airport (not included, $30.00). Return flight to Nassau as booked and end of tour.
